Happy, Happy, Happy!

So says Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame.

When you read his story you see a man who had all of the tools to be "happy" in today's world.  And yet, he wasn't.  He chose a different path from what our world says will make a person happy ... and in the process he found a righteous relationship with God, a rich relationship with his family, and a rewarding relationship with his fellowman and neighbors.

I like Phil!  He is not perfect but in my opinion has chosen to invest his life in the things that matter most on planet earth, people.  And he is dedicated to living his life well each and every day.

How about you?  What makes you happy?  Are you happy?  Here are a few thoughts about "Happy, happy, happy!"

Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.   Abraham Lincoln (not the Vampire Hunter)

“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”   Psalm 118:24

When you look up, what do you see?

Job 31:26  “Have I looked at the sun shining in the skies, or the moon walking down its silver pathway,”

This morning there was an incredible view of a full moon.  Its glow illuminated my walk to the car and as I strolled up the drive, I noticed a shadow off to the side.

My thoughts danced with the glory of God …

Job 25:5God is more glorious than the moon;”

How He gives guidance to my every step, brightens my daily journey even in the darkest moments, uses me to cast His shadow with each step I take, and remains ever-watching over His creatures and creation.

And I smiled, counting myself blessed to be loved and cared for by You.

Psalm 8:3-4 “When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers — the moon and the stars you set in place — what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?”
